Art is the means we have of undoing the damage of haste. Its what everything else isn't. Theodore Roethke - born May 25, 1908

"the deep eye sees the shimmer on the stone,
I recover my tenderness by long looking."
Theodore Roethke

It seems the theme for spring 2008 has been "Hurry Up Kerry". Thank God for my dear poet Theodore Roethke. His words always pull me into the moment; urging me to slow down, deepen my eye and "undo haste". God always gives me the time I need to do what is necessary. Note I used the word necessary. I often overdo. In a day of over the top self indulged gratuitousness, I am trying to par it down. I hope most of these images reflect this; certainly the encaustics do. It seems my addiction to color and juicy paint often lead to more than what is necessary. Hey, at least I can acknowledge it.

Blessings to all. Thanks for slowing down to take a look.
